Intraosseous Radiofrequency Ablation of the Basivertebral Nerve in Chronic Low Back Pain: A Meta-Analysis

Purpose: To review the literature on value of basivertebral nerve abla-tion in treatment chronic low back pain. Materials and Method: A systematic meta-analysis English to March 2020 was undertaken. The inclusion criteria were patients with discogenic pain more than 3 months duration modic type 1 or 2 change suc-cessful disc block discogram. Primary outcomes VAS pain, ODI, EQ-5D SF36 improvement. Secondary complications. Results: 6 studies included, all funded by same company, but oth-erwise bias. All showed significant improvement scores over first evidence these would be maintained longer term. There one reported compression fracture, otherwise no adverse events.
